American Gothic, Whistler’s Mother, and Mona Lisa are all famous paintings. While Aimee Fish, Campbell-Sevey’s Administrative Assistant, isn’t DaVinci, with a palette of paint and little wine she proves she has a great eye for it. The same great eye her great-grandfather Edgar had.
“My great grandpa was a fantastic painter and I always loved his work,” Aimee shared. “He did a lot of scenery and flower paintings.”
Aimee has always loved art and the idea of capturing the moments, whether through a paint brush or a camera lens. With her kids getting older she’s been able to do more of it through Wine & Paint events.
“I have only been to a few classes but I always have had a blast. My first one was with my mom for her birthday and we really enjoyed it,” said Aimee. “I like how they show you how to mix colors and how to start the paintings. I think people get stuck in the first part the most. It is hard to know where to start.”
For Aimee the classes are a perfect way for her to spend time with friends and family while doing something fun.
While painting with acrylic on canvas is her favorite medium, just like her great-grandfather, photography and theatre are also part of her artistic adventures. Her kids are pretty good at it too! Edgar would be proud!
